Lessons at Moserwood Farm with Laura Ovaitt

FEI competitor Laura Ovaitt is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist, and is only two scores away from her Gold medal. She is an "L" graduate with distinction and is working towards the USEF "r" judge program. In 2012, Laura was selected for and attended the prestigious USDF/USEF Advance Young Rider Graduate Program which is designed to identify and nurture top up-and-coming professionals. She regularly attends the USDF FEI Trainers' Conference and clinics with trainers such as Courtney King Dye, Heather Blitz, Michael Poulin, Tom Poulin, and Pam Goodrich. Before starting her own business, Laura was the Assistant Trainer and Barn Manager for USDF Gold medalist Chrissa Hoffmann. Chrissa still visits regularly to give clinics for Laura and her students.

Laura is currently competing her gelding, Chackomo M, at Intermediare-1. They have won numerous FEI high score and champion awards. Chackomo M will make his Grand Prix debut this spring. Laura's young horse, Celtic Flame, competed in the young horse classes and at training level last year. She won AWS Horse of the Year in both the Materiale and USEF Four-Year-Old divisions. Next year, Laura hopes to compete Flame at second and third levels.

Laura has competed horses of twelve different breeds in USEF/USDF recognized competitions, in addition to the many other breeds that she has worked with. The list includes thoroughbreds, saddlebreds, morgans, and quarter horses amongst others. Her students include riders with goals of FEI competition and NAJYRC, as well as those who are simply serious about developing better communication with their horse. She has helped riders with fear issues, those with green or difficult horses, and riders with a solid foundation looking to move up the levels. Novice riders or those new to dressage are welcome, but it is recommended that riders atleast be able to demonstrate basic control at each gait.

Signed riding releases are required for all van-in riders.
